No product or ingredient of any products has ever been tested on animals by Unique since its foundation - nor will we ever do so. We believe it is wrong to continue using animals to test the safety of cosmetic products as there are other methods of evaluating safety. Nor have we never commissioned any other company to do animal testing. We insist that all our suppliers do not test their ingredients on animals for cosmetic purposes.

Unique Products has been a BUAV approved manufacture for several years, which means that all our products are manufactured without causing any cruelty to animals. We comply with the strict requirements of the Humane Cosmetics Standard by BUAV. The EU banned animal testing for finished cosmetic products in 2004 and for ingredients in 2009.

The British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection (BUAV) is a British animal protection and advocacy group that campaigns for the abolition of all animal experiments. The group was founded in 1898 by Frances Power Cobbe, an Irish writer. BUAV engages in education, research, lobbying, investigations, undercover work in laboratories, and legal cases that challenge the legitimacy of using animals in experiments. It also promotes non-animal alternatives.
