In Chinese mythology the cornflower represented the sky, seen as the home of all Chinese gods. In folklore cornflowers were used as a remedy for tired eyes. Cornflowers are of the genus Centaurea, a name linked to Greek mythology. The centaur Chiron was known for his medical knowledge and skills.
