Althaea, also known as marshmallow, grows wild in Denmark. The name is derived from the Greek word altho - meaning to heal. In Denmark the plant was first discovered around the year 1300 and both monks and pharmacists have used it through time. Althaea contains pectin and flavonoids. It is known for its softening and hydrating properties which makes it an ideal ingredient in a nourishing conditioner.

rosemary
The name is derived from the Latin rosmarinus, meaning ‘dew of the sea’. This herb is native to the Mediterranean region where it is often found growing near the sea as a large evergreen bush. It blooms from March until May with small blue flowers. Rosemary contains essential oils and flavonoids. Used in the bath it is well known for its refreshing and invigorating effect. It stimulates both the skin and the hair.
