Heather is a small, hardy evergreen scrub, typically found on the heaths in Jutland. Heather has long tradition of being used in folk medicine. In the past, poultices made from heather infusions were used to treat bone and joint pains, but also as a homeopathic remedy. The blossoming stalks were used for tea and as a replacement for hobs when brewing beer. In skincare heather is considered calming and cleansing.

In the past elder was used for a multitude of purposes in the Nordics. The wood was used to make household goods such as needles, door handles, rulers and spoons. Juice, wine and fragrance were made out of the flowers and berries. Elder was also used in treatments against various ailments such as abscesses. Elder is known for lending skin more radiance and stimulates the skin due to its content of flavonoids. The beautiful and highly popular elder also contains essential oils, pectin and vitamins.
